Watermeadow Books is proud to announce the publication of a new edition of
Fred J Taylor’s classic book
"Favourite Swims".

First published in 1961, copies of the original edition are scarce and greatly prized, commanding high prices on those few occasions when they are offered for sale.
In this new edition, Fred has added an epilogue in which he looks back over the years to the swims and waters where he, together with Ken and Joe Taylor, developed the lift method for tench; deadbaiting for pike and recalls days they spent with giants of the angling world, Dick Walker, Peter Thomas, Billy Lane and Peter Stone.
One of the most gifted angling illustrators working today, John Searl was commissioned to produce a series of pictures for this new edition. These are based on many of the photos in the first edition and have been produced as delightful sepia-tone line and wash illustrations and are in complete harmony with Fred’s writing.

This strictly limited edition 148 page book has been specified to the highest standards.
Printed in two colours to preserve the quality of John Searl’s superb illustrations, only 500 copies bound in a high quality natural cloth have been produced. These feature head and tail bands, blocking to front and spine with a ribbon marker bound in.

A further 40 copies are leather bound with all the features that should be present in a high quality collectors’ edition. Bound in Harmatan natural goatskin, four raised bands to the spine, ribbon marker, head and tail bands, gilt on all edges, marbled endpapers, blocked front and spine with extra tooling this is a book to treasure. * They are signed individually by the author and this beautiful volume is be presented in a protective slip-case.

The introduction to this edition has been penned by noted angler and writer Tim Paisley. In it he speaks of the affection he has for Fred – a feeling he shares with legions of admirers – and of his appreciation for the timeless quality of "Favourite Swims".
